Surf Fishing & Sea Gulls January 7, 2014

Fishing on the beach at Oak Island  January 7, 2014  21 degrees and a 11 mph North wind! Just a bit brisk but its still fishing and a lot of fun! And I am a very dedicated fisherman! Most of my friends tell me that I am hardcore but I don't know about that, I am just like a kid in a candy store, I love to catch fish! Big preferably but any catch is a fun day!

I experience many things while I fish, I get to what nature at it's best, yesterday I watched two birds, a Sandpiper and a Sea Gull. The Sandpiper ran around continuously just as hard as he could go catching his food! I was there for about 5 hours and this little Sandpiper never once stopped, he was on the go from the time I got there until after I left. On the other hand is the Sea Gull, she just sat in front of me the entire time I fished. Finally after sitting three hours to catch a fish I caught two Blue fish on the same rig, and what did this Sea Gull do???...She runs out in the water and un hooks my fish and she swallows both of the fish before I can even get out of my chair! Disheartening I know but it was an experience that I had never witnessed before too! It was an amazing day out fishing yesterday to say the least, I had lots of  fun as I usually do when I'm fishing. I caught 4 Blue Fish & kept 2 and donated 2 to my friend the Sea Gull!

Here she is!...  The Fish Snatcher!
